CERTIFICATE IN HOLISTIC PSYCHOLOGY
Requirements - A Bachelor's Degree
Holistic Psychology is a specialization in psychology that deals with the total person from a wide spectrum of viewpoints. Holistic psychology, like clinical psychology, deals with assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the individual. This certificate is well suited for the clinician and mental health specialist who want to expand their knowledge base as well as their clinical practice.
For students who do not wish a full time program this is an excellent opportunity to expand their knowledge base while learning new and dynamic treatment modalities.
The basic requirements are an undergraduate degree . This is a Graduate Certificate, so the courses may be applied to the Masters or Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) programs
The program is comprised of the following courses:
- Psy 704, Advanced Psychopathology/DSM-IV (5 units)
- Psy 717, Meditation, Hypnosis and Visualization (5 units)
- Psy 721, Mind, Body and Consciousness (5 units)
- Psy 723, Alternative Psychotherapy (5 units)
- Psy 726, Spirituality and Mental Health (5 units)
- Psy 760, Wellness Coaching (5 units)
- Psy 781, Intuitive Counseling (5 units)
Six of the seven courses (30 units) must be completed. Each course is 11 weeks. In order to obtain credit for each course, a minimum grade of "B" (3.0) is required. Generally two courses
(eleven weeks) are taken each quarter.
